Children and Young People
Our goal is to achieve positive outcomes for every child we care for, and we recognise that every child and family is different.
People with disabilities, long-term illness, or life-limiting conditions are considered to have “complex needs”. It can occur at birth, as a result of an accident or injury, or as the result of a simple illness.
Support may be required daily, overnight, or during periods of illness for people with complex care needs. Due to their weakened immune systems and health needs, children and young people with complicated care needs often become extremely sick from common illnesses.
People who have complex care needs can continue to live at home and in their communities with complex care at home. Providing care to children and young people with health needs has become the preferred method of care in place of hospitals and care homes.
